MEININGER Hotels wins the Global Youth Travel Award 2017

MEININGER Hotels are pleased to announce that they have won a Global Youth Travel Award 2017 in the consumer-voted category for Best Youth Travel Accommodation. The Global Youth Travel Awards (GYTAs) honours outstanding market performers in the youth, student and educational travel industry. The Best Youth Travel Accommodation award is voted by youth travellers to recognise an organisation or property that excels in its commitment to providing them excellent experiences.

The awards were announced during the annual World Youth and Student Travel Conference (WYSTC) in Montreal, Canada - the leading trade event for the global youth, student and educational travel sector.

MEININGER Hotels have been nominated for the last two years and are delighted to have been recognized by their guests on the efforts made in the youth travel sector. The award confirms the success of the unique MEININGER accommodation hybrid model, combining the quality of a hotel with facilities of a hostel as well as its open and welcoming atmosphere. The right concept for today’s urban traveler, attracting a broad variety of guests including backpackers, groups, leisure travelers, business guests and families alike.

Hannes Spanring, CEO of MEININGER Hotels said: “We are pleased to receive this consumer-voted price, which recognizes and rewards the daily work of our staff. Guided by our core value “customer first” we will strengthen our existing guest relationships, and meeting expectations of new MEININGER guests at the same time”.

About the Global Youth Travel Awards

The Global Youth Travel Awards formally recognise outstanding performers in fifteen fields of international youth travel and reward WYSE Travel Confederation members and other stakeholders in the youth, student and educational travel industry who make an outstanding contribution to our industry.

The Global Youth Travel Awards began at the World Youth Student and Educational Conference (WYSTC) 2011 in Barcelona with a focus on bringing to light the great experiences being provided by members of our community.

In subsequent years – 2012 in San Diego, 2013 in Sydney, 2014 in Dublin, 2015 in Cape Town and 2016 in Belgrade – the awards have evolved to include members of the wider youth travel industry and a greater number of awards.

As the prestige of the Global Youth Travel Awards has grown, so has the awards ceremony, which takes place at every WYSTC Conference.
