In the borough of Neuhausen-Nymphenburg the hotel group MEININGER has opened its second property in the city of Munich. The MEININGER Hotel Munich Olympiapark has 172 rooms and 822 beds and is centrally located at the ring road (‘Mittlerer Ring’) near the Olympic Park. With the opening, the company is strengthening its presence in Bavaria’s state capital.

The hotel group MEININGER has extended its hospitality offering in Munich with a second hotel. The new accommodation is located at Landshuter Allee 174 and emerges from a former office building. Extensive renovations created space for 172 rooms and public areas with an individual design concept as well as an underground car park with over 80 parking lots. The gross floor area of the 8-storey building covers 12,382 sqm.

"We are running our first hotel in Munich, the MEININGER Hotel München City Center on Landsberger Strasse, with great success for 15 years now. The bed occupancy rate of 87 percent for the financial year 2018 is the best proof that our hybrid concept works very well in Munich. With the gained knowledge of the past years, we are pleased to open a second hotel in the city and welcome more guests to MEININGER," says Hannes Spanring, CEO of MEININGER Hotels.

The interior design of the MEININGER Hotel Munich Olympiapark takes up the dynamics and fast pace of the city. The design team focused on high-quality materials, functional design as well as on a color and shape concept which unites all floors into one vibrant, urban network. "Munich is no longer just the capital of Bavarian cosiness. The city developed a powerful, bustling dynamic. The interior design concept of the hotel translates this euphoric flair into a facility full of energy and motion," states Spanring.

Like most MEININGER hotels, the property at the Olympic Park offers a 24-hour guest kitchen, a game zone and a flexible room structure which responds to a diverse guest mix and varying needs. Travellers can choose between single and double rooms as well as private dorm rooms and dormitories. “Our highest principle is that our guests feel at ease when staying with us. The public spaces with a clear focus on multifunctionality and design create places of social interaction and cosiness at the same time“, emphasizes Spanring.

"This new opening marks the pursuit of our partnership established in 2014 with MEININGER. Through its services, its design and the flexibility of its offer, the MEININGER Hotel Munich Olympiapark translates the concept of lifestyle hotels and reinvents the clients’ experience," completes Dominique Ozanne, Deputy CEO at Covivio.

The  MEININGER Hotel Munich Olympiapark is the second project carried out with Covivio, European leader in hotel investment and MEININGER's European development partner. The two partners opened a hotel in Milan last year and are planning two new openings in 2019 in France, Paris and Lyon. MEININGER will operate the hotel at the Olympic Park, owned by Covivio, under a 20-year lease.

The Olympic Park, which offers many events and concerts throughout the year, lies only a short walk away from the MEININGER Hotel Munich Olympiapark. The BMW World, the Nymphenburg Palace and the Leopoldstraße, known for its bar and restaurant culture, lie also within easy reach. The central station and Karlsplatz (Stachus) are about 15 minutes away by public transport. The tram and bus stops Olympiapark West are located in front of the building. The subway station Gern lies within 10 walking minutes. With its central location next to the ring road, transport links to the motorway towards the airport and the exhibition center are guaranteed.

For MEININGER Hotels it is the second opening in 2019. On March 18, the hotel group opened its first hotel in Hungary. With the opening of the MEININGER Hotel Paris Porte de Vincennes this summer, the company will enter the French market.
