On July 30th, the MEININGER Hotel Group opened a further house in Milan. The new addition comprises a total of 131 rooms and 475 beds and is located directly on Piazza Monte Titano opposite the Lambrate train station. It is already the third hybrid accommodation of the MEININGER Group in Italy.

The MEININGER Milano Lambrate is located in a former office building which was converted into a MEININGER. The 131 modern rooms and 475 beds are spread over 8 floors and all have a private bathroom and air conditioning. The room types range from classic double rooms to private shared rooms through to a bed in a dorm. All public areas, such as the reception, lobby, lounge, breakfast room and bar as well as the guest kitchen and game zone, which are all typical features of a MEININGER, are located on the ground floor and basement of the building.

As inspiration for the design of the MEININGER Milano Lambrate served the "Lambretta" scooter, which was once developed and manufactured in Milan. Named after the Lambrate district, where the company was based, the Lambretta became also part of the MEININGER. A total of three scooters of various model series are exhibited here. "The theme holistically runs through the entire interior design of the building," says Doros Theodorou, CCO of MEININGER Hotels. Pictures of the legendary scooter decorate the walls of the public areas, the lobby is designed like a showroom and the breakfast room like a workshop. Here and there guests can discover exciting details of the time when the Lambretta was part of the typical cityscape of Milan. Also in the rooms and hallways guests encounter the sympathetic vehicle.

"This is how our guests experience Milan from a different angle already in the accommodation.", continues Theodorou. "This is part of the MEININGER concept. We want to surprise our guests and give them the opportunity to experience a facet of the city away from the typical attractions. This is interesting and exciting for all our guests, whether it's backpackers, groups, families or business travellers.".

Thanks to its close proximity to Lambrate train station the MEININGER Milano Lambrate is well connected to the public transport network. It's the perfect base to easily explore the city. To Milan Cathedral and La Scala it's just 15 minutes.

Hannes Spanring CEO of MEININGER Hotels is very pleased about the opening of the MEININGER Milano Lambrate: "This is already the third MEININGER which has opened in Italy within a short period of time. At the end of last year, we entered a completely new market with the opening of the first MEININGER in Milan near the Garibaldi train station, and now, eight months later, we already operate three MEININGERs in Italy. All three properties are a great addition to our portfolio, as Italy's major cities are popular destinations for people from all over the world for many reasons." In addition to the two houses in Milan, the MEININGER Group opened its first MEININGER in Rome this May.

The MEININGER Group continues to expand. Two more hotels will open this year, one in Budapest and one in Berlin. Twelve further projects are currently under development.
